On successfully completing the TTOC Broadcast Assistant – Record Replay (VTR/EVS) course you will receive a television industry recognised TAFE certificate. This will qualify you to be employed as a Record Replay Assistant working on studio and outside broadcast productions.
What experience will I get?
Record/ Replay Assistants are familiar with basic maintenance, installation and operation of components in studio and field and will extend their knowledge in the specialised area of Record/ Replay devices.
Video Tape Recorder (VTR) – The use of tape devices in both studio and OB environments will be explored. The evolution from tape devices to server-based technology will be explained giving reasons why one technology is preferred over the other.
EVS is the main server technology used in studio and OB environments today. The operation of EVS technology will be the main focus of this module.
What kind of job can I expect?
Successful graduates will be employable in Record/Reply assistant roles in the studio and on OBs.
What are the entry requirements?
The applicant should have two years relevant experience or have completed Broadcast Operator - Intermediate.
How often do the courses run?
Courses are one month long, starting March 2010, and will run frequently until the last intake for 2010 in October.
