Audio Technician - 2 Day Introduction |

The Audio Technician Basics - PART A and B courses are the initial step to becoming a qualified Audio techician. They are run over two days. Upon completion the course carries a Certificate of Achievement.

Overview: Audio BASIC - Part A (Day 1)
- Develop knowledge of production rundowns and their relationship to operational audio facilities
- Identify the principles of balanced and unbalanced audio signals.
- Identify cables used to carry audio signals.
- Develop skills to identify the causes of interference, buzz and crosstalk on audio signals.
- Recognise and perform cable termination to OB unit and various breakout boxes.
- Understand the correct procedure for the use of labels.
- Demonstrate the correct and safe operating procedure for installing and removing cables. Fault report documentation.

Overview: Audio BASIC - Part B (Day 2)
- Identify microphone types, accessories and their use.
- Identify power requirements for microphone and accessories.
- Identify different microphone signal levels.
- Develop knowledge for the correct application of sex changers, pads and MLA’s.
- Use and apply the various microphone mounting techniques and SOP when installing microphones
in any public area.
- Build and FX microphone to eliminate wind noise.Operate a location “test set”
