Overview: Communication Basics
- Develop a knowledge of Production Comms requirements, Production rundowns, and their relationship to Communications systems (IFBs, party lines, pre fades, point to points)
- Identify the types of talkback solutions commonly used in Production applications.
(4w’s, panels ,radio ,telephony, cameras)
- Understand the terminology used to describe communications equipment and signals
(ie: ports, matrix, point to point, party line, conference, group 2w, 4w, etc)
- Understand the various types of connections (cables and connectors) required to inter connect the remote stations to the talkback Matrix.
- Understand the requirement for data in a talkback system.
- Understand the role of the control PC in a matrix talkback system
- Care and Maintenance of equipment including weather protection
- Operate a location test set (Listener and Generator)
- Demonstrate the correct safe operating procedure of installing and removing cables
- Fault report documentation
