An introduction to Power - its usage, management and safety

Overview: Power Basics
- Identify and understand the different types of power connectors and cables, application and correct use ie: power locks, Marachel, Wilco, 3 phase power systems and cables (including OH&S)
- Demonstrate the correct and safe methods of cable running, protection, wall box connection, fusing and switching, weather proofing of 3 phase power, including OH&S issues regarding the OB unit, the crew and the public.
- Demonstrate an understanding of voltage, phase & colour coding with particular emphasis on differing national colour codes.
- Understand different types of generators; single; twin; synch’ed.
- Power up, check and cable generators.
- Be familiar with and have an understanding of power breakout units and cable/connector adaptors, power rating, RCD’s and OH&S issues involved with their use.
